Great Tarpon/Summer season ends....Fall fishing begins
After a Fabulous Tarpon Season , Fall seasonal fishing will begin in Mid September and last until the winter arrives in January.
This tarpon season was our best in 25 years with multiple hook ups every day and landing at least one tarpon EVERY trip.
The highlight if the season was Scott Leclair's 40 in girth fish which awarded him 3rd place in he Sarasota tarpon tournament which is the laregest and oldest Tarpon Tournament in Florida. BTW . that Tarpon weighed 165 lbs also !
I am anticipating another great fall with the Sept -Oct shark run being the featured event. Our day begins with netting bait, then off into the Gulf of Mexico we go. Finding feeding birds near shore is easy , and when we do find them we begin to chum with whitebait to attract Spanish Mackerel. After catching a many Mackerel as you wish, we cut some macks and begin chumming for sharks . usually the Sharks show up in a few minutes. On a poor day we catch 3 or 4 and good day over 20. Blacktips , Lemons Hammerheads and Bulls are the most common. If the conditions in the Gulf are poor then we stay in the bay and chum for Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout, Bluefish , Mangrove Snapper,  Flounder, Sea Bass, Spanish

Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish and others.
